Night Life Bus Route Announced for Tulsa

KWGS News Map

A new Tulsa Transit route will begin this weekend. It is called “the Loop” and that is exactly what it will do. It will make a loop around the downtown night-spots on Friday and Saturday.

The new circulator starts operations on September 4, 2015. Service on The Loop will operate each Friday and Saturday night from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. with service every 20-25 minutes. The Loop will service Tulsa’s downtown entertainment district connecting the three major districts: The Brady Arts District, The Blue Dome District and The Deco District.

The bus exterior, designed by local advertising and marketing firm, Acrobat Ant, features a space ship design reminiscent of the legendary movie, Star Wars. Inside the bus features colored and flashing LED lights, perimeter couch seating and a surround sound stereo system. Both families enjoying downtown entertainment, shopping and dinning as well as young adult crowds enjoying a night out will be attracted to the modern, sleek design of the bus.

The Loop route will travel in a counter-clockwise fashion through the downtown area traveling as far north as Cameron, Cheyenne on the west, Sixth Street on the south, and Greenwood on the east. The fare will be $.25, but a receipt from a downtown merchant will be accepted in lieu of the cash fare.

Riders will be able to track the proximity of the bus by using Tulsa Transit’s bus tracker. Riders can download the Ride Systems app or find the bus tracker on Tulsa Transit’s website at www.tulsatransit.org
